In February we spent a few days in Pisa and we were able to try out some of the city’s restaurants.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel with a spa, in a small town attached to Pisa (8 km from the city center). For breakfast, there wasn’t much gluten-free choice and all packed (muffins by Schar and rice cakes by Scotti and another brand). In the restaurant of the hotel instead there is a gluten-free menu every day (an appetizer, a first course, a second course, and a dessert), but they can also change almost everything else on the menu for the needs of the celiac customer. I took an appetizer and a first course from the gluten-free menu, both good (a pie and a risotto) and they also brought me gluten-free bread (a bun, some breadsticks, and some crackers).

Completely gluten-free bakery.
We went there one morning to have breakfast and we took a croissant and a cream doughnut, both really good.
We also took some cookies, good, and some pizza that we ate at lunch. The pizza was delicious, even eaten cold, both as crust, and as a condiment.
They also have a choice of 2-3 first courses for a quick lunch (first courses made by them and frozen in single portions and then heated for lunch).

Fast food where you can have the whole menu also in gluten-free version: hamburgers, hot dogs, burritos and chips.
We took an hamburger and an hot dog, both very good, with a soft and tasty bread.
The room is small and nice, with some outdoor table and open kitchen.

A nice restaurant not far from the center of Pisa, where you can have virtually all the menu as gluten-free.
We took the purple potato dumplings with fish sauce, a sea bream with baked vegetables and two desserts (a cake of chocolate and pears and vanilla ice cream accompanied by a cream).
All delicious, especially the fish with vegetables and two desserts.
