Their strengths are definitely the puffs and the buckwheat focaccia: the puffs are certainly among the best I’ve ever eaten, perfect in all flavors (cream, chocolate, pistachio, hazelnut and chantilly).

Good the bread and pizza. The biscuits, tarts etc are not bad, but for me their shortcrust pastry is a bit too sweet and tends to crumble. The puff pastry desserts are quite good.
One evening, for a dinner with friends, we took a profiteroles (called “Bongo” in Florence 🙂 ) really delicious!

Venues in Florence:
- Via dei Neri, 13/r, 50122 Firenze +39 055 210070 – Glusearch
Bakery in the center of the city, a few steps from Piazza Santa Croce, with some seats to have a breakfast or a quick lunch.
Starbene Gold – detailed review
- Viale Spartaco Lavagnini, 2R, 50129 Firenze +39 055 060 4038 – Glusearch
Small bakery just outside the city center. In the afternoon they have less choice of products, so it’s advisable to go in the morning or book the day before the desired products.
- Via Madonna della Querce, 18, 50133 Firenze +39 055 012 5935 – Gluserach
Very nice place with a good choice of sweet and savory products and a few seats where you can have breakfast, a snack or a gluten-free aperitif.

- Via di Calenzano, 50019 Sesto Fiorentino – +39 055 795 0783 – Glusearch
Bar, bakery and pastry shop, also selling gluten-free packaged products.

Bakery and café in the Porta Romana area (not far from the Boboli Gardens), which makes gluten-free cakes, especially on reservation.
When we arrived they had freshly baked some cakes and usually you will always find something available, but it’s better to call and book to be sure to find everything you want.
We took a tray of mixed cakes and they were all really delicious: both the puff pastry and the short pastry were great.

Shops with gluten-free products
Paolo Roselli Senza Glutine

Very well stocked gluten-free shop with a “bar corner” where you can find sweet and savory products from the various gluten-free laboratories in the area. The owner is very helpful and informed about all gluten-free products, from the most traditional to the most particular: in the shop you can find many quality products, even of small companies.
