Christmas decoration with colored sugar –
With icing sugar and homemade colored sugar, even without decoration tools, you can make very nice cookies for Christmas.
Ingredients for 15-20 cookies:
gluten-free shortcrust pastry (without baking powder)
Make the gluten-free shortcrust pastry (without baking powder) and let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Roll out the dough and cut rounds biscuits; bake at 180°C for 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely.
Prepare the frosting: put in a bowl the icing sugar and add plain water, a teaspoon at a time, stirring well, until it reaches the desired consistency.
Put a little frosting on a cookie with a spoon and shape to the desired shape with a toothpick. I made candles with a holly at the base and snowflakes.
When the frosting is still fresh, put the colored sugar over, press lightly with your finger and clean up the edges from sugar surplus, even with the help of the toothpick.
For the candle I put the yellow on the flame and the red and green for holly; for the snowflake, I put the blue on all the frosting.
On half of the undecorated cookies put the melted chocolate and cover with decorated cookies.
You can make many other decorations to your likings, such as hearts or stars or make 3 or 4 small circles and color them with various sugars.
